Building Trades Tour Series - Sheet Metal Workers

Add to Your Calendar: 03/29/2024 09:30 03/29/2024 11:30 America/New_York Building Trades Tour Series - Sheet Metal Workers

The Building Trades Tour Series will be a series of field trips to the training centers for the different building trades set up about once a month over the school year.  We will visit a training center, hear about their programs, and possibly do a few hands-on projects.  This is an excellent way to check out all the opportunities available for good-paying careers in the trades that do not require college.  Building Trades Apprentices earn while they learn and that is not modeled in any other occupation.

The different skilled trades available are boilermakers, bricklayers, carpenters, cement masons, electricians, elevator constructors, insulators, ironworkers, laborers, operating engineers, painters and glaziers, plasterers, plumbers, pipe-fitters, roofers, sheet metal workers, sprinkler fitters, and steamfitters.

This tour is of the Sheet Metal Workers' training center located in Marshall.  There will be a tour, a rundown of what their program is and what they do, and a hands-on project building a tool tote.  Transportation is to be arranged among the parents.
