Additional Information

Award winning author and illustrator Hyewon Yum will present about writing and illustrating books for children. Each family in attendance will receive a free copy of her newest book, Saturday is Swimming Day, which she will be available to sign.  In addition, all week long, look for displays and activity stations in The Library, and enjoy themed stories during our regularly scheduled storytimes.  Hyewon Yum will present four events over three days. Join The Library at these Children’s Book Week events:

In-library presentations:

Friday, November 9:              Elizabethville Area Library                                5:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 10:        Alexander Family Library                                10:00 a.m.

Saturday, November 10:        Kline Library                                                      1:30 p.m.

Sunday, November 11:           East Shore Area Library                                   2:00 p.m.

Seating begins 30 minutes before programs. Registration begins October 16 and is required to attend. Register as a family. Space is limited. Register at dcls.org or by calling your library.  Each family attending gets a free book to keep!  

The Children's Book Week Celebration is made possible by the Joan Y. Leopold Endowment Fund.  Joan Y. Leopold, a life-long resident of Dauphin County, served a board memeber of the Dauphin County Library System for more than 20 years.  A tireless advocate for both child and adult literacy, her belief that reading opens a world of education and imagination lives on in her family, students and all those she touched through her efforts.
