Benzon Research is a local laboratory that specializes in rearing over 20 different insects. Some are used for in-house research while most are sold to other labs. Using a STEM model, we will be shown around the lab, reviewing the life cycle of insects and learning “the path” their employees took to do their particular jobs (you may just be surprised.) There will be time for questions during and after the tour, so please have your child prepare some questions ahead of time.

Safety requirements: Closed toed shoes are a must and long pants are preferred – definitely NO shorts and no skirts above the knees. Also some people can be sensitive to the insects’ scales that are floating in the air. Dust masks will be provided but those with significant breathing issues, such as asthma, should be advised to use caution.

ALL adults will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
