Welcome to the website of Barren River Home School Association!! BRHSA was started in January 1986 by 5 families in Bowling Green KY. Since that time our association has grown to over 200 families in Warren, Barren, Edmonson, Simpson, Butler and Allen counties in KY and Sumner county in Tennessee. We provide educational and social opportunities for our membership through a variety of events and activities. Some of these activities are Fall Park Day, Spring Park Day, Fall Festival, Christmas Party, Valentine’s Day Party, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, and Science Fair. Throughout the month we also have co-op classes, Enrichment Day, Choir, PE, Yearbook, field trips, Mom's Night Out, Teen Events (including a graduation ceremony), 4-H, Scouting (Girl, Cub, Boy) and basketball team. All homeschool activities are parent inspired and lead with each year offering new and exciting possibilities as our association is continually growing!
Other benefits of BRHSA membership are discounted membership fees to HSLDA, and access to our members only website www.homeschool-life.com/ky/brhsa. This website includes membership directory, membership cards, BRHSA events calendar, classifieds, forums and so much more!!
BRHSA membership applications can be found in the Homeschooling Resource Packet available at the Warren County Public Library main branch (second floor), Smiths Grove branch, Mobile Library branch and Graham library and Bob Kirby library. The Homeschool Resource Packet is also available at the Allen County library in Scottsville and the Goodnight Memorial library (at desk) in Franklin. This packet also contains information regarding KY homeschooling law and homeschool resources.
