WHO WE ARE
We are an open, inclusive, and nondenominational educational outreach program, registered with the Maryland State Department of Education (MDSE) to provide home education oversight services to homeschooling families living anywhere in Maryland.
HUG Maryland offers:
• An affordable and hassle-free alternative to county portfolio reviews
• Reliable, documented evidence of compliance with Maryland's homeschool regulations
• Respect for your homeschool choices, goals, philosphy, and curricula. We don't require any particular curricula or scope/sequence, but we work with you to document your chosen program of "regular, throughout instruction" as required by Maryland law. We never require more than the state mandates--we are here to ease your homeschool burdens--not add to them!
• A broad menu of homeschool support services, including portfolio reviews; guidance on curricula, standardized tests, and local resources; assistance with recommendations, work permits, and diplomas; high school credit review; college and career counseling; and support transitioning to/from school
From pre-k/early elementary and middle school, to high school and beyond, we've been there--done that and are eager to share with you our 15 years of proven success supporting Maryland homeschoolers!
