Christian Home Educators Connection
The purpose of CHEC is to support and encourage home educators by providing information and opportunities for fellowship both educational and social. Although CHEC is a Christian organization with Christian leadership, membership is open to all those wishing to home school their children.
Membership Options ~ $25 per year
CHEC has five Elementary Age Groups and one Jr/Sr High School Group.
CHEC I - Serves Clinton, Edwards, Bolton, Vicksburg, West Jackson, and Pocahontas. K-6th grade. Meets in Clinton
CHEC II - Serves South Jackson, Raymond, Learned, Byram, Terry, Florence, Copiah County and Utica. K - 6th grade. Meets in the Byram area.
CHEC III - Serves Brandon, Pearl, Flowood, Morton, and Pelahatchie. K - 6th grade. Meets in the Brandon area.
CHEC V - Serves Ridgeland, Madison, and Canton. K - 6th grade. Meets in North Jackson.
In these smaller, more intimate groups, there are opportunities for forming relationships, additional field trips, parties, kids' activities, and park days. We encourage Small Group members to participate as fully as possible in the planning and implementation of the activities of the Small Group to insure the success of the group.
CHEC VI - Teens, Grades 7th - 12th. All areas (Must be at least 12).
The teen group participates in activities together such as opportunities for community service hours, college planning, and group classes. CHEC Teens also have movie nights, paintball tournaments, bonfires, and just time to get together! As part of our Teen offerings, CHEC has the only chapter of the Homeschool Honor Society in MS and runs an annual FULL Graduation Ceremony for our graduating seniors.
