FAQ about BRIGHT

Perhaps you have some questions:

What is BRIGHT? We're a homeschool cooperative located in New Jersey's Somerset County, organized to provide home education families an opportunity to enrich or supplement their children's academic curriculum and social experience within the context of a Christian-based group. We are registered with HSLDA for homeschool group discount membership.

When and where do you meet?  We meet each Wednesday  at  9am at Zarephath Christian Church (Children's Ministry Center) off Route 287, Exit 12.

What classes are offered?  BRIGHT's classes are parent-initiated and parent-led (that means led by YOU and ME!).  The current year's classes are listed in a separate link.

Opportunities for service:  BRIGHT's parents serve at the co-op in some capacity for each hour that their family attends.

What does it cost?  The initial once-a-year registration fee is $25.  After that, each family is required to pay $333 over the year or at once.  An insurance fee (to be determined) will be required with your registration.

How can I find out more and contact someone?  First, read BRIGHT's information on the sidebar (Bylaws, BRIGHT's House Rules, etc) to consider if we are a good match for you and your family. Then simply begin by filling out the online Request Information form.   The director will contact you and go over the application process with you.  Beginning the registration process in no way obligates you; it is just the best way for us to initially hear from you.  Please note that we are not accepting any applications at this time.

If I do not know anyone in BRIGHT, how can I join?   BRIGHT usually operates on a "sponsorship" basis - that is, we would already know you within the local homeschool community. If you are new to the area or to homeschooling, BRIGHT will need personal references from your last church and your last homeschool group (if applicable) in order for us to consider your membership.

"If we say have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:6-7.
