Secondary Level Overview

Intermediate (6th - 8th grades)

High School (9th - 12th grades)

At this level your student can take full syllabus courses, enrichment classes, or a combination.  Classes offered are subject to an available teacher. 

Enrichment Classes 

As membership allows, we may offer a variety of enrichment classes such as:

--Guitar, Drama, Choir, Drawing, etc.

--Yearbook, Current Events, Photography, etc.

--Technology, Building a PC, Computer Programming, Animation, etc.

--Home Ec., Auto Mechanics, Sewing, Emergency Response Training, First Aid Certification, etc.

--PE, Fencing, Street Games, etc.

 As with any class, an appropriate amount of work must be completed to count these classes as credit for your home school.

 Full syllabus classes

These classes come with a full syllabus but are dependent on parental grading and supervision.

--Foreign language, Spanish I, II, etc.

--Health, Psychology, etc.

--Speech, Debate, or Computer Applications, etc.

 For academic Science, English and History, we offer courses on a rotating basis, as we are able.

 - Intermediate level (6th - 8th) - Composition assignments may include Writing & Reports.  It is essential that students learn these skills in their Intermediate years as they will be expected to be proficient by 9th grade.

Texas History, and World Ancient History thru Modern Times (rotates as available).

 - High School level (9th - 12th) - Assignments may include 5 Paragraph Essay, some SAT writing and a Research Paper. Geography may be incorporated.

Modern History 

 Science using Apologia books (Labs performed at Co-op)

General Science    (min. math required - current Saxon 7/6 or trad. Pre-Algebra)

Physical Science   (minimum math required - current Saxon ½ or trad Algebra I)

Biology    (min. math required - current Saxon Algebra I or trad. Geometry)        

Chemistry      (minimum math required - current Saxon Alg II or trad Alg II)        

Physics or H. Anatomy (min math req. - current Saxon Adv Math I or trad. Trig & Pre-Cal)

REACH Core classes are for assistance & accountability.  We can only be responsible for 1/5 of course instruction and grade recommendations. 

 

The remaining 4/5 of instruction & grading must be provided by parents.
