2014 FEAST Patriot Cross Country Season Begins!

Welcome to the 2014 FEAST Patriot Cross Country Team. Registration is now open on the FEAST website. You may register runners and pay for team shorts and the newly redesigned Patriot t-shirt. Don’t forget to sign-up for the Patriot Pass before trying to login. If you weren’t able to attend one of the Kick-Off Meetings in July, there is still time to join our team. Please contact Coach Jones because we are having one more Kick-Off Meeting the first week in August. It is mandatory that both the athlete and one parent attend one of these meetings. Cross country is open to 5th graders through high school seniors.

Our first official practice is at Live Oak Park (back entrance off Toepperwein Road) Tuesday, August 5th at 4:45pm. Practices will be held each Tuesday and Thursday for the next 12 weeks. We will have running groups for competitive cross country team, track offseason sprinters, conditioning fitness group, and optional home eligibility running program. Everyone gets to run and have fun, including the parents!

Our 2014 meet schedule is almost complete with 8 high school and 7 middle school meets already scheduled. All the races are Saturday mornings held at the same meet location. We will have our Annual “Red, White, and Blue” Fun Run on Thursday, August 14th, 4:45pm, Live Oak Park. The top three most creative uniforms receive a special gift! Times will be used to see which running group runners will practice in.

The 12th Annual FEAST Patriot Cross Country Invitational has already had 15 teams sign-up, and we are praying for 1000 runners to participate this year. For the first time we are having chip timing and a tower clock at the finish line. Our format has changed this year to include the 5000 varsity boys/girls large school, 2-mile varsity girls small school, JV boys 5000, JV girls 2-mile, boys & girls MS 2-mile, and 800 meter “Fun Run” for younger kids. The location this year is at Alamo City Christian Fellowship Church off I-35/Rittiman Road. I am praying this will be our cross country team’s favorite race of the season!

I look forward seeing everyone soon, and remember to tell your friends the exciting news and keep our team in prayer. If you have any questions or need to attend the kick-off meeting in August, please contact Coach Jones at or (210) 340-9400.

*NOTE: You must be a Patriot Pass holder in order to participate in any FEAST sport. The Patriot Pass is $125 per family per year. Click here to read more about the Patriot Pass.
