FEAST Football in 2014

The Patriots opened the pre-season workouts ready to take on the Texas heat and prepare for the upcoming season. The Patriots expect to have another successful season as we continue to focus on not only building skills to win games but focusing on developing character to both win and lose with grace. While the football memories may last for a while and fade over time, our prayers are that the friendships and character of the young men will grow over time and for years to come.

High School kicked off its season on August 30th in Bryan with the inaugural Allen Academy Six Man Showcase where 14 teams competed over a three-day schedule. While the FEAST team graduated several seniors from last year’s team that made it to the TCAL state championship game, this year’s team is also full of talent with several younger players ready to step up and support a solid group of upper classmen. Team Captains Andrew MondragonDeVoss, James Fierros, Syd Sundell, and Bryce Benitez will lead the team off and on the field. They are joined by seniors Travis Robinson and Joshua Offield as they focus on getting better each week and learning how to grow in self discipline and preparation. The Patriots face their most challenging schedule ever this year (#11 of the program). We have learned that competing against the best makes us better, and that is our focus.

Middle School kicked off its season on August 28th at FEAST with a game against Blessed Sacrament Catholic. Last year the FEAST team was back in the championship game of the South Texas Football league to defend its championship from 2013. Unfortunately the other team came out on top, but the Patriots played with all their might, which is what the coaches had prepared them to do. This year’s team will be prepared to carry on the winning tradition of the Patriot football program. They have their eyes set on returning to that Championship game again. This year’s team will be led by James Perez and Josiah Dawson as the only 8th graders on a young but talented team.
