Summer Reading

Summer Reading Fun Begins!

June 7-Aug 4

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

10am – 4pm

Dear FEAST Families:

I am excited to announce that the Summer Reading Program is about to get underway again! Starting June 7, kids and teens will be able to sign up for the program and earn money by reading books. All they have to do is read a book from the approved list, fill out a report form, and turn it in to the FEAST Summer Reading room. Participants in the summer reading program will receive one dollar for each book read, up to $20, but they can keep reading to compete for the most books read in the three age categories. Participants in the Teen Challenge program will receive $5 for each book read, up to $20, and they are also encouraged to keep reading to compete for the most books read. In addition to first, second, and third prizes for each category, we will also have an end of season awards ceremony with door prizes.

Hey Teens! Did you know you can earn extra door prize tickets by volunteering? You can volunteer with us at FEAST in Summer Reading, or do any other reading/literacy related volunteer work. Email me to volunteer with us: summerreading@homeschoolfeast.com

I especially need volunteers for FEAST Summer Reading during the following dates: June 14th-16th, 10am-1pm and July12th-28th.

Parents: Make sure you’ve visited the FEAST website and downloaded the permission form before your first visit to the Summer Reading Room. All forms will be updated by June 1.

I participated in the Summer Reading Program myself when I was young enough, and I can assure you that it’s a lot of fun - and the easiest $20 you will ever make!

The program will run through August 4.

Hope to see you there!

Rachel Walker, Coordinator
