Border's: program is called "Borders Classroom Discount" (scroll down on their page to "Teachers & Librarians".) If you are a homeschooler and can provide any applicable state certification, you are eligible for the 20% Classroom Discount Card. Milwaukee Public Library Summer Reading Club: Begins June 1. There are reading programs for children of all ages designed to be a fun, easy way to keep kids reading throughout the summer. Summer 2004 theme: Discover New Trails @ Your Library. Plus other Free Summer Programs: There's more than just reading at the library. Children are invited to attend more than a hundred free programs at all Milwaukee Public Libraries. They'll hear fabulous stories, pet live animals, plant beautiful flowers, enjoy Harry Potter programs, and see amazing magic all summer long. Get more information online or at your local branch.
Half Price Books: Half Pint Reading Program. This Summer Reading Program is for students K-6 and is designed to encourage them to continue reading throughout the summer break. The program runs from June 1-July 31 and is open to all children in those grades. To enter, they may pick up an application/reading log at any Half Price Books beginning June 1 or they may download it from www.halfpricebooks.com/summer_reading
When the student reads a total of 15 hours and mails in the reading log, he or she will receive a $5.00 reward gift card. All entries must be postmarked no later than July 31.
Pizza Hut Book it Program : allows parent to set monthly reading goals for students in grades K5-6th, when goal is met, student is rewarded with a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Reading Recognition Program: This free program from Rocky Rococo's encourages students to read. Each student is given a Reading Recognition Card. After a child reads a book, the teacher gives the student a sticker to attach to their Rocky Rococo Reading Recognition Card. After earning stickers, students can obtain free food prizes by taking their card to the nearest participating Rocky Rococo Restaurant. AMC Theatre's Read for the Stars: A *summer* reading program. Read three books and get a FREE kids pack (soft drink, popcorn and candy) at your local AMC Theatre. Visit their website for more information and to print out an entry form.
Book Adventure: FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. http://www.bookadventure.org

Incentives for Grades
Chuck E Cheese: Tokens for grades- up to a 15 token maximum, kids can receive 3 tokens for each "A", 2 tokens for each "B" and 1 token for each "C" on their report card.
Blockbuster rewards students for hard work in school by giving free rentals for good grades. Students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade who have an A or B average on their report card can present the report card at their neighborhood Blockbuster store to receive one free Blockbuster Favorite rental.
Krispy Kreme has several programs in place for students and schools:
Good Grades Program: Applicable for grades K-6, a student may receive an original Glazed Doughnut for every 'A' or equivalent of such; if a different grading system is used. There is a limit of six doughnuts per grading period.
Stick With It Kids: This program was to aid teachers in reaching their classroom goals. The teachers can pick up their posters and stickers at a participating Krispy Kreme. As each student reaches his or her goal the student gets to write their name on a success sprinkle and decorate the poster as a ' stick with it kid'. When the classroom has reached their goal the teacher must take the completed poster to a participating Krispy Kreme and redeem it for two dozen original glazed doughnuts as a free treat for the class. There is a limit of one poster per teacher per school year.
Field Trips: Teachers can bring their students to their local Krispy Kreme store and experience the Krispy Kreme story. Our field trip programs are not only fun but they are also a great learning experience.

Milwaukee County Zoo: free admission for schools, includes homeschools, from November through March. Must call to pre-register before your visit.
Milwaukee Public Museum: Educator Pass - This pass will allow you (the educator only) FREE admission to the Museum for one year. The Educator Pass also includes other benefits including advanced notice of new exhibits, programs, teacher workshops and a special 15 percent discount on educational materials at all Museum shops. Milwaukee County residents are admitted free each Monday with ID.
Milwaukee Art Museum: Milwaukee County residents, free general admission Monday and Saturday mornings, 10 a.m. to noon. Web site Also, Tours for Teachers: Become acquainted with the Museum's feature exhibitions and permanent collection through hearing an informative presentation and participating in a tour. This is a free program for current educators with proof of teaching status. Registration is required to attend each session. Dole 5 A Day Club:Dole's Nutrition Education Program offers education materials free-of-charge to U.S. elementary schools. The materials encourage children and their families to eat 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day to promote better health. Order online.

Feature Films for Families:The "You are a Critic" program is designed to give you a voice in the kind of movies produced for your family. By participating in this program, you will be sent a free, one-time screening of a film on DVD, and later be asked to critique the film on the Internet, allowing your voice to be heard. The Idea Book for Educators is the biannual teacher's magazine created by the Education Department at A&E Television Networks. Includes Teacher's Guides for programs featured in Classroom and a printed version of the A&E Classroom Calendar, which features air dates, program descriptions, and information.
