HOME is currently comprised of approximately 100 member families. We offer a variety of means for supporting one another and building caring relationships. These avenues of support include…
- Our monthly Parents’ Meeting where many of us get together for a time of prayer and fellowship followed by a time for a pre-selected speaker to come and encourage, exhort or direct us in our homeschooling efforts. This event occurs the last Monday of every month (except in December) and is open to the public. Fellowship begins at 6:30pm and the Meeting officially kicks-off at 7pm.
- Another means of support we provide is through our monthly newsletter that includes regular articles on the Vision of Homeschooling, Exhortation for Mothers and Fathers, and teaching academics from a Biblical Perspective.
- We provide further support opportunities for families through our many groups which include…
- HOMEBoys Airsoft
- HOMEGirls 9-12
- HOMEKids 5-8
- Field Trips
- Mom Heart
- Connect Groups
- Special Needs Group
- Used-Curriculum Sale
We also provide online support through the member area of this website which include an Email Loop (a regularly used medium for communication on everything from curriculum to recommendations on dentists) and Forums and we also have Facebook page.
We also provide support to our families experiencing difficult times with our Meals ministry.
Though we are a Christian homeschool support group we welcome any homeschooling family into our group as a member regardless of beliefs. Due to our Christian convictions, however, we only allow like-minded Christians to be involved as Volunteers or Leaders. Therefore we require all volunteers and leaders to embrace and sign our Statement of Faith and to submit an application for acceptance.
HOME membership requires a yearly application with Policies agreed to by a parent (by both parents if divorced with joint custody of children) and a $15 yearly fee per family. We do not prorate the fee at any time.
The benefits of membership include access to the monthly newsletter, discounts for HSLDA, and access to the Member Website, Email Loop and Forums.
A majority of our activities and our Parents’ Meeting are open to non-members to participate in.
