ELIGIBILITY
Description of terms:
NORMAL GRADE - The grade the majority of non-home schooled students are a specific age on September 1st. This is what would be considered the “NORMAL GRADE” for that age.
These specific ages are listed below.
v 9th Grade – 14 years old
v 8th Grade – 13 years old
v 7th Grade – 12 years old
v 6th Grade – 11 years old
v 5th Grade – 10 years old
PLAYING UP is defined as a player competing at the level above their normal grade.
PLAYING DOWN is defined as a player competing at the level below their normal grade.
NATURAL PROGRESSON – the goal oriented system describing the purpose of each level of play namely:
Ø 9-10 year olds – (5th Grade)
practice hard; earn some minutes;
prepare for next year
Ø 11 year olds – (6th Grade)
should be earning starting minutes; encouraging younger players;
prepare for next age group
Ø 12 year olds – (7th Grade)
practice hard; earn some minutes;
prepare for next year
Ø 13 year olds – (8th Grade)
should be earning starting minutes; encouraging younger players;
prepare for high school play
