WELCOME TO HAVEN HOMESCHOOLERS!

Welcome to Haven Homeschoolers!

Haven Homeschoolers operates as a cooperative group of homeschooling parents and children. We are Christian-based, but not Christian-exclusive. Our purpose is to encourage family members in their homeschooling efforts by providing information, socialization, fellowship and support: Specifically:

Ø      To take advantage of group rates and places that would cost us more on our own

Ø      To provide opportunities for review and discussion of curricula

Ø      To provide instructional and social opportunities through field trips and special activities

Ø      To provide information about county and state requirements, evaluation/testing

Ø      To foster orderliness and responsibility in our personal lives and in the education or our children

Ø      To present to the community a positive example of homeschooling

Our Extreme Teen Group is formed as an extension of Haven Homeschoolers for students who are ages 11 and above as of September 1st of the current membership year. The focus will be on providing:

Ø      Opportunities for these students to build relationships through social activities and "extreme field trips"

Ø      Events that focus on future educational and career needs

Ø      Cooperative learning opportunities

Ø      Continued parental information and support while attempting family unity.

A cooperative is operated not only by each member contributing ideas, but also following through with plans, arranging trips and making it become a reality.

We will meet the first Friday of the month for Teacher's Meetings at Lake Hartridge Nature Park on Havendale Blvd.  General Haven meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise announced.

The agenda for the Teacher's Meetings may include, but is not limited to, prayer, support, discussing next month's field trips and planning new field trips or special activities.  You'll want to bring a chair to sit in, checkbook or cash for trips, any Box Tops for Education or Tyson Labels, Scholastic book orders and any ideas you'd like to contribute. You may want to bring a picnic lunch to eat after the meeting. This would be a great time to fellowship with other families.
