PARENTS' NIGHT OUT

We would love to have YOU join us!

August 17, 2010

Who is invited?

  • Home schooling parents, grandparents of homeschoolers, and any adult interested in learning more about home education are all invited to the evening meetings.
  • Our daytime event focuses on families so children are encouraged to come and enjoy a good time.

PLEASE NOTE:  While nursing infants are welcome, the evening meetings are not for children.  If you bring a guest, please make sure they understand this.

Where do we meet?

Our gracious host for evening meetings is Cypress Ridge Presbyterian Church.  Use this link to see a map and get directions from your home.  If you are familiar with the area, they are located at 6230 Cypress Gardens Blvd. Winter Haven, FL 33884.

What happens at PNO?  A favorite of many of our members is the Curriculum Cruise!

Curriculum Cruise

Everyone is welcome to bring their used curriculum and school materials to sell during the Curriculum Cruise.  In order to make this the best, most efficient experience for everyone, please use the following sale and buyer courtesy guidelines:

  • Materials must be placed in a box and the box placed on the table.  Do NOT spread your books and materials out on the table.
  • Plan to arrive by 5:45 PM in order to have time to put your material on display.
  • Provide an envelope for each item for sale and place it in or on the item.  Use the format shown in the newsletter for your envelope and make note on the envelope if the material is incomplete or partially used.
  • When an item is purchased, the buyer will put the payment in the envelope then place the envelope in a box at the end of the used materials table.
  • At the end of PNO you are responsible for collecting your unsold items and checking the box for your envelopes.

Unclaimed materials will be disposed of after the meeting.  If you have place materials on the free table, please make sure you remove them at the end of the evening.  The PNO committee is not responsible for unclaimed envelopes or materials.

BUYER COURTESY:

  • Only take materials if you intend to purchase them.  If you walk around with materials and do not purchase them, it keeps others from having a chance to view them and deprives someone of a sale.
  • If you have decided to purchase an item please get the money into the envelope box as quickly as possible.  Some moms have to leave earlier than others.
  • If you do change your mind about a purchase, please put the item back where you got it so the seller can find it.

Do not carry items from the Curriculum Cruise

unless you have paid for them.
