Areas of Ministry

Email Updates
With so much information available, CHESS member families are hard pressed to keep up-to-date! The internet has proven to be a valuable tool in keeping CHESS families informed of what's going on in the world of homeschooling. Our email list is not shared or sold to anyone, and is only used to notify CHESS members of breaking CHESS news.

Member Database
Our member database constantly being updated with new member information so that we can continue to contact our members in a timely fashion, whether through email, newsletter or via the telephone.

Membership Directory
CHESS is excited to provide each member with a pictorial Membership Directory, a great way to match names with faces, and find the phone numbers of like-minded home educators! The Directory is strictly for CHESS members and will be published every year.

Member Handbook
Every year, a Member Handbook is printed listing and explaining all that CHESS has to offer and clearly defining how CHESS operates. Look for your edition of the Member Handbook every fall!

Newsletter
One of the greatest assets of CHESS membership is the 9-issue/year CHESS Newsletter, packed with vital information about activities and events available to your homeschool! Spiced with encouraging quotes and articles selected to enrich you, the CHESS newsletter is a valuable resource. Never be "left out of the loop" again.

The CHESS newsletter is edited, designed, collated and mailed completely by volunteering homeschooling parents.

Website
CHESS is working on providing members and the homeschool community with another great resource, our own presence on the internet! Already up and running, and getting better every week, the CHESS website: www.lansinghomeschoolers.com will be the place to find out more about what's up in our community of homeschoolers, post "swap ads" for curriculum, participate in bulletin board "chats", and just keep up to date!
