WHY MMCHE?

There are a number of reasons for joining MMCHE.  Many of these reasons have to do with Mid-Michigan home school students being able to participate in an organized sports program or events put on by MMCHE and it's member families.  Further below will be a listing of many of these programs, events and activities that MMCHE has sponsored in past years.

Another reason for joining MMCHE is to have access to our private secured website.  Through the website you will have access to postings about activities like those previously mentioned.  You will also have access to other postings and bulletin boards allowing you to communicate with other Mid-Michigan families who home school just like you.  Through these postings you may learn of field trips, theater production plays, bands, music lessons, high school get-togethers, gym nights, cooperative classes, etc. that you might otherwise miss out on.

MMCHE has offered and will continue each year to try and offer many of the following for home school families in Mid-Michigan:

SPORTS:
    Basketball Teams*

      *Dependent on the number of participants wanting to play each year

HOME SCHOOL FAMILY EVENTS:
    Gym Nights
    Bowling
    Roller Skating
    Bon Fires

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EVENTS:
    Field Trips
    Boys and Girls Clubs

HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS:
    Scavenger Hunts
    Gym Nights
    Game Nights
    Progressive Dinners
    Bowling

SUPPORT GROUPS:
    These have taken place in various places throughout the years.  Like other home school activities support groups are started and kept going based on needs and desire to participate.

USED CURRICULUM AND BOOK SALE:
    An annual sale that MMCHE holds for homeschool families to sell and purchase books and curriculum between families.

YOUR OWN WEBSITE:
    As an added benefit, beginning in the 2007-2008 school year, all member families will be able to have their own website within MMCHE.  This website will allow you to post information about your home school activities that will be made available only to other MMCHE families.  (Note:  all content loaded must meet MMCHE guidelines for suitability.  MMCHE reserves the right to remove any content that it deems inappropriate with MMCHE values and standards.)
