WHO WE ARE

Agape is a Christian support group for home school families in Loveland and the surrounding area. Our goal is to foster support and relationships, driven by educational and social opportunities. We are a forthright Christian group, with no affiliation to any specific church or denomination. We are simply homeschooling parents who desire to come together with like-minded believers to support each other.

Agape hosts monthly support meetings on the last Monday of the month, during the school year. There will be a speaker or activity scheduled, and time to socialize is always part of the agenda. Fathers are welcome and encouraged to come. Childcare and Kids Pak are also available.

Small groups are an active part of Agape. There are many different groups to choose from, each with a different focus. Some groups organize field trips, while others get together for physical education, or play time. Mom time and a teen group are also available.

The Agape Messenger is an excellent source of news and information for the local homeschool community. It provides contacts and information for many of the local activities, both within Agape, and the community as a whole. The newsletter is distributed 10 times each year.

A library is available for Agape participants. It holds a wealth of homeschool books and resources. Supplies (microscope, educational games, test prep resources, etc.) are also available for check out. The library is open for an hour before each Family Meeting.

The Agape Participant Card is distributed to each family. It can be used as proof of homeschooling, or to receive a discount at many local retailers. It also allows you free checkout of educational trunks at the Loveland Museum.

Each spring Agape provides several outstanding opportunities. Testing with Iowa Test of Basic Skills is available, as well as a six week series of co-op classes, and an outstanding Graduation service for Seniors. In the summer we schedule two pool parties, and get together weekly at the park.

Agape is a member driven organization, and vote in officers to lead the group. Leadership decisions are based on the expressed needs and desires of the participants.

There is a participation fee of $30 per family each year. This pays for our meeting place and much of the cost of our activities. Extra fees may apply for some of the activities (such as field trips and electives classes). Scholarships are available for those who need it, and split payments are also accepted.
