Performing Arts for The Home-Educated Student
Jubal Academy of Music
Starting this Fall
Home/Private School Band
Offers homeschoolers and private school students an opportunity to play in a large group ensemble and perform within the community.
Jubal Academy of Music offers lessons in piano/keyboard, guitar, drums, flute, string, and band instruments from ages 4 to adult. Our goal is to help families meet their musical goals. Many people have lost their vision for learning music or never had the chance to pursue it. It is our desire to help them renew their vision and to help them develop their gifts and skills.
Our goal is to establish an atmosphere where traditional learners can also develop their creativity and where creative (play by ear) students can enrich their knowledge of music by learning to read notes, and by studying ear training and music theory.
In addition to private lessons we offer these enrichment classes:
Army of Praise Chorus
Members learn singing and performance techniques and perform within the community.
Summer Programs
Our yearly summer camps offer students the opportunity to try each instrument and find which one they like to play.
Summer band instrument introduction class
Vocal Performance Class
Meet the Composer Workshops
Use hands on music activities to teach students about the character, music, and lives of famous musicians.
Offered throughout the year at local libraries and homeschool support groups.
Qualified students perform in several concerts within the community and in local Nursing Homes and Rehabilitation Centers. We are members of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs.

Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra
The BSYO is comprised of students ages 6-18 who are admitted through a competitive audition process. We are committed to the training of talented young musicians by professional musicians and conductors. The students are offered the opportunity to expand their skills in classical music and to work with a peer group that has attained the same level of expertise and talent.
The BSYO has three orchestras to choose from:
-
Under the direction Linda Woodrich, the String Ensemble is a training orchestra for students with some experience on their instruments and basic note-reading ability.
-
Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Silliman, the Concert Orchestra is for students who are proficient on their instrument and wish to gain orchestral experience.
-
The Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductors Staci Cleveland, Wayne Bresette, and Michael Garasi, is comprised of advanced students performing challenging orchestral literature.
