THE 2008 CCHM BOOK BOWL

3rd Annual CCHM Book Bowl
What is a Book Bowl?
A Book Bowl can be organized in various manners, but the basic idea is a game where students are separated into groups and work together to earn points for answering questions about the various books on the current Book Bowl list.  Each student will be asked questions from those books listed in their grade range.
At the end of the game, the winning team is awarded a special prize and all of the participants receive participation prizes.
Does my child need to read every book listed for their grade range in order to participate?
No. While it is always great to read all of the books, a student does not need to have read every book listed for their grade range because each group will work together as a team to answer the various questions. The format allows the individual student an opportunity to answer a grade appropriate question and receive more points; however, if the student does not know the answer, they can then ask their teammates to help answer the question.
In the past, most of the students read 2-4 books from the book list.  Bible passages are included on the book lists.
When is the Book Bowl?
The Book Bowl will be scheduled in May 2009 as part of the Fun Day Friday activities.  It will be held at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne.  Please check back for the exact date.
How were the questions determined?
Various parents volunteered to help read the books and write age appropriate questions.
How do I register?
You will go to the Calendar Section of this website, click on the date of the event, and complete the registration.  There will be a registration deadline.

            What ages may participate?

The Book Bowl is organized so that 1st grade through high school may all participate.
