TESTING TIPS

Children should get enough sleep.

Parents - relax.

Grade 2-8th arrives at 8:30 a.m. each day; we will meet in the Calvary Chapel of Melbourne in the Commons Area; please enter the south west door, near where the sanctuary doors open to the Commons Area.

High school students should arrive at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday for testing.

Guessing is appropriate ONLY if they can eliminate one or two of the answer choices.

Students should go over and check their answers in that area of the test if any time remains to do so.

Don't get stuck on one problem too long. Again, they can go back to it if they have the time.

For students in grades 4-12, calculators are optional for the Math Problem Solving section. If your child is comfortable using one, bring it.

Bring (2) #2 pencils, a nutritious snack, a sweater, and a book to read if they finish early.  Please do not bring any electronics, e.g., ipods, mp3 players, gameboys, etc.  Be sure to explain to your child that there will be times where they will be required to wait quietly.  If your child cannot sit quietly, they will be asked to leave the room and not return for further testing; in addition, there will not be a refund for the test.

Parents may wait in the Commons for testing to finish each day. Someone will let you know that testing is finished for the day, and bring your child to the Commons area.
