ACTIVITY AGREEMENT
"Let your light shine before men, that they may see
your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven."
Matthew 5:16
As a member of CHEC, you agree to uphold the rules and standards of CHEC at all times while participating in any field trip or activity that CHEC is in any manner associated with.
CHEC is a Christian parent-directed homeschool support group that holds Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and the Bible as the inspired Word of God. All members are to recognize that the Bible teaches that Christians represent Christ and His body here on earth. No member should at any time conduct him/herself in a fashion that would bring reproach to Christ, or to CHEC and the homeschooling community.
Purpose
The purpose of CHEC field trips and special events is to enhance the home education of the members of CHEC. In fitting with the Mission Statement and Philosophy, established through Christian Home Educators of Carthage, it is the desire of the Field Trip and Special Event Coordinators to assist our families in their endeavor. We believe it is our responsibility, as parents, to train our children in the ways of the Lord. The Coordinators seek to enrich this process through the utilization of our community resources.
Rules and Standards
1) Please do not show up for an activity unless you have actually signed up for it.
2) Please do show up for an activity if you have signed up for it; unless an illness or emergency prevents you. (If you cannot attend, and it is at all possible, please contact the Activity Coordinator in advance in case there is a waiting list.)
3) Please be as punctual as possible; we want to be careful not to waste other's time!
4) Please try to carefully follow all instructions given by the person in charge of the event.
5) As tempting as it may be to talk amongst ourselves (children & adults), please respect the speaker and remain as quiet as possible.
6) Remind children to respect all those in authority (event leader, parents, etc...) by quickly and carefully following instructions. (Parents: please deal with the obedience of all children in your care. This is much easier to do when they are kept within arm's reach.)
7) Unless specifically stated, a parent is required to attend all functions, or designate another adult, to supervise his/her children.
8) Try to hold off asking questions until the completion of the event or activity, unless otherwise directed. Remember to be respectful when asking questions and please limit questions to those pertinent to the event or activity.
9) Remember to dress neatly and appropriately for the specific activity planned and always wear a pleasant smile!
10) Please write thank-you notes as promptly as possible.
Right to Refuse
The Leadership Board reserves the right to refuse anyone the privilege of attending a group activity if they have not followed the policies listed above, are disruptive to the group or venue, or if they place the group in jeopardy of not being able to attend a field trip or venue in the future.
