General Science

Description: Science…. what images does that word conjure up in your head? Is science dull and boring? Is it too hard for most people? Is it something that only nerds like? Well, in the course, you will begin to find out the answers to those questions. You will learn about the history of science, how to do science, the history of life, how your body works, and some of the amazing living creatures that exist in God’s Creation.

 

INSTRUCTOR:  Nathaniel Kabat

AGE:  Grades 6 - 8 (other ages with instructor approval)

TIME:  2:00 – 3:25 pm (Class will be approx. 1 1/4 hr, last 10-15 minutes for questions or extra help)

MIN/MAX:  3 students / 8 students

CLASS FEE: $18/month per student + building fee

MAT’L FEE: $15 Sept / $10 Jan

TEXTBOOK FEE:  Each student must purchase separately a copy of Exploring Creation with General Science, 2nd edition by Dr. Jay L. Wile

 

 

Elementary Botany

This class will use the Apologia curriculum to study the world of plants that God created on the third day.  Some activities will be done in class, and some at home.  Students will take notes, complete worksheets, and make a botany notebook so they will have a record of what they learned during the year.

MIN/MAX:  Minimum 4 students

CLASS FEE:  $25/month per student + building fee

MAT’L FEE:  $20 Sept/ TBA Jan

TEXTBOOK FEE:  Each student must purchase separately a copy of Exploring Creation with Botany by Jeannie Fulbright, Apologia Science

 

Supplies to bring to class:  Textbook, magnifying glass, ruler with metric and inches, drawing paper (computer paper) for drawings, notebook paper.
