WHAT DOES CHE HAVE TO OFFER?

Membership is open to those who homeschool or who are considering homeschooling. As a courtesy to visitors (anyone who is not a “full member“), attendance to two events is provided at no charge (except for any fees related to the activity). All subsequent involvement will require full membership.

As a resource organization, we provide a variety of social and educational opportunities including field trips organized by members, social events for children and adults, topical discussions or presentations, and regular meetings for mutual support.

Classes - we offer a wide variety of classes designed to encourage your child to love learning. Please view or class catalog for more class information. We meet at the Hwy. 58 Fire Training Center, also known as the old Snow Hill Elementary School in Ooltewah, TN.

Mom’s Night Out - In order to achieve our purpose of encouraging and supporting homeschooling moms, CHE has a monthly “Heart and Soul Mom's Meeting.” The meeting is structured to give information, encouragement, and social time for those attending. Moms are encouraged to attend all monthly meetings. Meeting dates and times will be announced soon.

Weekly E-mail: The Leader of CHE also sends out a weekly e-mail, Midweek Motivation, by Wednesday morning to encourage members and give updates and reminders of events.

Below is a list of activities that have been provided through CHE last year. Not all activities will be available every year as members choose what to plan for the group according to their individual interests.

Annual Activities: Back To School Picnic, Christmas Party, Christmas Wrap it Up Service Project, Toys for Teens Drive, Cookie Exchange, Valentine’s Party, Corn Maze Field Trip, Forensics Science Field Trip, History Fair, Thanksgiving Play, Member Appreciation Night, Year-End Program and Events, Fire Safety and Prevention Day, See You at the Pole Day

Class Activity Days: Silly Hair, Weird Hat Day; Backwards Day, Sports Day, Team Spirit Day, Dress-up Day, Green Day

Service Opportunities: Christmas events with Hwy. 58 Fire Dept., Membership Directory, Newsletter Editor/Assistant, Resource Librarian/Assistant, School Pictures, Testing, Yearbook.
