FAQS ON CHEG

 

Dear Home School Family:

 

Welcome to the Home Education Group of Cornerstone Calvary Chapel!  It is our desire that your membership in this group will be edifying to you and your family.  We pray that this school year be filled with His grace and wisdom as you endeavor to “train up a child in the way he should go” through this personal adventure called “home schooling”.

 

Our email group, and its postings on the internet, is provided as a service to registrants of the CHEG exclusively.  Through this media members of the group may post messages on topics such as, but not limited to, the following:

 

1. Favorite home education websites (under Links on the home webpage)
2. Field trip details and/or ideas
3. Club details and/or ideas
4. Fellowship details and/or ideas
5. General information on events in a given area that would be of interest to home educators.
6. Prayer requests (under Prayer Request Forum)
7. Curriculum discussions/suggestions
8. Home education teaching methods
9. Legislative alerts [pertinent to New Jersey Homeschoolers only] – this has proven very helpful the past year as many were not registered with HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) or ENOCH (Education Network of Christian Homeschoolers) e-alert service.

 

As we all know, our time is precious to our families, so please be sensitive to the fact that some members have limited access to the internet.  With this in mind, remember the following points when posting messages to the group:

 

1. This message board is for the sole purpose of mutual exhortation, edification and education in the area of home schooling.  Please do not send messages selling items such as Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Avon, etc.  However, messages concerning the loan, sale and giving away of home schooling material is acceptable.   Remember to only post messages that are directly related to home schooling, education enrichment and fellowship. 

 

Please note: The CHEG website, www.homeschool-life.com/nj/cheg has a classified section for the sale of various items.  In this classified section is also a file for listing your business called Business Directory.  Here you can list your business, add a link, and have your contact information included.  Once it is there, people can look you up.  Your business will be deleted at the end of the school year (the month of August) so when you re-register for the next year, you will need to put your business back in.

 

1. This list is for parental use only.  If your child(ren) would like to organize an activity, that is home school related or involves fellowship, and wants to post the details on this forum, you may speak on behalf of your child(ren).  Please be sure to revise said message before its posting for appropriate content.
2. If you wish to post any message concerning an activity involving another church, other than CHEG, approval is required from Michele Gross.  She can be reached at grace2u5@verizon.net.
3. To post to the group, go to www.homeschool-life.com/nj/cheg and sign in.  Go to Forum and then choose New Thread.  Pick the subject it falls under and type in your message.

 

As Christians we desire to have all participants deal with one another with the generally accepted basic values of the sanctity of life and home, the worship of God, and mutual respect which we offer through the love Christ has placed in our hearts.  If any member feels she/he has been offended, please do not respond to the other party publicly via this message board.  Matthew says, 15 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.'

 

Please keep in mind that we serve a God that is able to reconcile and restore.  However, if this principle is breeched, this will be cause for a meeting with the CHEG moderator.

 

If you feel CHEG is the group for you and your family, please request membership into our site, download the CHEG registration and fill out in its entirety and mail back with your registration fee.
