LOWER ELEMENTARY CLASSES
KINDERGARTEN
Teachers: Sarah Hale & Tiffany Shafer
Time: all year 9:00 – 12:00
Class Fee: $10 per semester
Class Description: The teachers reinforce what is being taught at home at the kindergarten level. It includes phonics review, math skills, history, science, music, recess, crafts and so much more. Your kindergartener will have a great time and won't even realize he is learning.
1st GRADE
Teachers: Tina Smith & Holly Kincaid
Time: all year 9:00 – 12:00
Class Fee: $15 per semester
Required Text: First Language Lessons Level 1 & 2
Class Description: Students complete the first half of First Language Lessons, first grade science, and first grade history. The science and history curriculums will be completed in class with no work required at home. First Language Lessons will complete one lesson each week, leaving on 2-3 lessons per week to be completed at home. They will learn poetry, basic grammar terms and oral narration. Math games, crafts, and music will complete our curriculum for the morning.
2nd GRADE
Teachers: Gina Kruse & Kim Vetter
Time: all year 9:00 - 12:00
Class Fee: $15 per semester

All classes are K through 2nd grade unless otherwise noted.

Boys Club (taught by Mr. Daryl Charbula) Boys will enjoy this hands-on class filled with fun activities while strengthening their character and learning good citizenship. FEE: $15 per semester
Cooking (taught by Rita Balciunas) Learn many new delicious recipes in one the most popular elective classes offered. Safety in the kitchen will be emphasized. Please advise the teacher of any food allergy on the enrollment form. FEE: $12 per semester
Frogs, Toads, and Butterflies (taught by Suzanne Boone)(spring only) Learn about some of our cutest animal friends. Many hands-on activities will enhance this nature study. Fee: $5
Galloping the Globe (taught by Becky Soliz) This class is a wonderful geography study. Your student will enjoy learning all the wonderful places the our earth has to offer while enjoying hands on activities. Fee: $5
Games We Play (taught by our wonderful, awesome, fantastic, all giving coordinators) We will be learning some great new games. Some weeks we will make games to take home. Some weeks we will play board games. We will also be sharing great games we learned as children. Get ready to play!!!
Girls Club (taught by Melinda Presswood) Girls will enjoy this hands–on class filled with fun activities while strengthening their character and learning good citizenship. FEE: $15 per semester
Money Matters (taught by Virginia Jones)(spring semester only)Students will learn the basics of money. What is money? How is it used? How much do things cost? These questions and other fun facts about money will be uncovered one week at a time.
Musical Instruments (taught by Sarah Kruse)(fall semester only) Your child will learn some very basic music as they learn to play these color coded handbells as a group. FEE: $10
PE (taught by Mary-Margaret Eberhardt and Kimberly Smith) Students will actively participate in various outdoor and indoor games. The focus of this class will be healthy living and exercise in order to develop confidence and coordination skills.
Pilgrims and Indians (taught by Suzanne Boone)(fall only) Learn about the tribes of Indians and the lives of the Pilgrims when our great country was discovered. Many hands-on activities will be presented for a true taste of our nation’s history. Fee: $5
Sewing (taught by Maria Wright and Judy Atkins) Your younger student will learn some of the basics of great threads crafts. We will work on hand dexterity while creating great fun works of art. FEE: $10
Super Math 3 (taught by Kristin Novilla) SuperMath is a program that is specifically geared to mental calculation. The skills SuperMath teaches will enable your child to maximize his/her ability in math. Students must have a basic understanding of addition and subtraction although their skills may be far from perfect. The program teaches mastery of basic skills and introduces borrowing, carrying, multiplication and division concepts, as well as rapid calculation skills. Please note that this class will have homework. Students are required to do daily math drills in order to advance in this class. Note: Students are required to purchase SuperMath 3 before class begin. The current price for the curriculum is $130.00-$150.00. Fee: $5 per semester
Super Math 4 (taught by Kristin Novilla) Prerequisite: SuperMath 3. Students will complete the mastery of the basic skills and advance into powers, derivation of roots, fractions, and decimals. The student will also continue to acquire rapid calculations skills. Please note that this class will have homework. Students are required to do daily math drills in order to advance in this class. Note: Students are required to purchase SuperMath 3 before class begin. The current price is $130.00 - $150.00 Fee: $5 per semester
