Homeschooling - Family to Family
Ask yourself this question: Are you willing to share your heart for home schooling by guiding a new family through the curriculum maze, by introducing them to support groups and the social opportunities of home schooling, by providing regular counsel and encouragement when it gets tough and by praying regularly for them? If just a fraction of seasoned home schoolers catch this vision and say, "Yes!" we can bring over one million new children into home schooling over the next few years. An added benefit would be a great strengthening of our state and local home-schooling organizations. |

Treon Goosen Talk from May 13, 2008
Treon Gossen is well known in the State of Colorado for her work with the current Homeschool Law. At our invitation, Treon came to speak with us concerning recent rumblings from California and how it could affect Colorado's Homeschool future. She also shared the current homeschool law in plain terms and took a Q&A time from the people attending. If you currently homeschool or are considering homeschooling your children, this is a must listen to. |

An Old-Fashioned Education
Welcome to An Old-Fashioned Education. I'm Miss Maggie, owner and creator of this site. You'll find here a directory of free homeschool curricula, literature and text books organized for the use of homeschooling families.
Homeschooling can cost a fortune if we're not careful. A textbook plus the answer manual, teacher's manual and test booklet can easily run over $200! And that's just for one grade level and one subject. Good grief! Do they think we're all growing money-trees in the back yard? I live in a single income household and there is no way on God's Green Earth that I can afford to spend as much on homeschool supplies as I'd like to. Since buying whatever strikes my fancy is not an option I have decided to seek out as many free online resources as I can find. There are literally thousands from which to choose. |

HSLDA Used Curriculum Market
This site is for the sale of curriculum and materials specifically related to homeschooling. HSLDA created this site in response to our members' concerns about the policy of other auction sites that do not allow the sale of teacher or instructor materials (e.g., anything with an answer key). We want to provide a one-stop shop where anyone can sell, and HSLDA Members can buy, new or used curriculum. |

Ultimately, very few people would be able to prepare sufficiently to meet all situations by themselves for a prolonged period. Only by pulling together as extended family or groups can the various needs of a family or community be met. However, it is the responsibility of each individual to acquire the knowledge, skills, supplies, and desire to not merely survive, but overcome adversity and continue to live and provide hope for the future for future generations. |
Share Colorado
The goal of SHARE is to help families save about 50% on their groceries, while encouraging the building of relationships with their neighbors in the community. There are no qualifications...if you eat, you qualify. |
