The FISHE board is pleased to announce the following
- We have nominated Amy Majors to the member-at-large position on the board and she will be coordinating membership for FISHE
- FISHE membership registration is now open and will be free for the 2011-12 school year

The soccer registration period will be extended until August 23?. We will be asking that parents affirm the statement of faith when registering for soccer.

The FISHE spelling bee, open to all homeschoolers in Greater Fairfax County, was held Saturday, February 16th. Twenty-two children participated, ranging from 1st through 8th grade. It was a hard-fought battle, going a record 26 rounds before a winner emerged! The participants spelled words such as grotesqueness, nonnegotiable, harangue, toxicosis, and fluorescent, impressing the audience greatly.
Delaney Keefe, a 6th grader, was the champion. In second place was Brett Hungar, also a 6th grader, and tied for third were Sawyer Krueger (7th grade) and Paige Hungar (8th grade). The Hungars are a FISHE family.
Delaney will go on to the Fairfax County Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Fairfax County Council of PTAs, on March 20th.

Come and Play - We'd love to see you at our soccer co-op this year. We offer two seasons of play - spring and fall. Spring registration begins in March for April to June play. Fall registration begins in August for play from September to November. Sometimes we even get together over the summer to kick the ball around.
