
LCHSA provides an opportunity for home schoolers to develop their athletic talent, build Godly character through competition and team work and make lasting friendships with fellow home schoolers. The kids also will build lasting memories and learn life lessons that carry them into adulthood. The highlight of the season is the end of the year banquet. There the teams celebrate in community their hard work and each athlete is honored with an award.
“Once upon a time the WIAA, in their ultimate wisdom, decided to exclude home school athletes from participating in the inter-scholastic sport’s programs of conventional schools. Many considered this exclusion unfair, but very little could be done to combat the rules. Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Rivers took the only possible step for creating an outlet for home schoolers in the area to participate in competitive sports when they founded Lakeshore Christian Home School Athletics. This was done first by searching out others who shared the same vision, and then banding their sons together for the maiden voyage of the Lakeshore Thunder....ThunderNation...”
