BACH

Q:

Can anyone join BACH?

A:

BACH exists to support families who are educating their children at home. BACH offers enrichment classes for elementary and middle school, and academic classes for middle and high school. BACH is not a school and parents are responsible for  educating their children.  BACH offers sports, field trips  and activities for homeschooled students.  Families who are enrolled in area public or full time private schools are not eligible for BACH membership. Families who have students in multiple educational scenarios, but are fully homeschooling at least one student  are welcome to join BACH.  The students in that household who are not homeschooled might be able to participate in some activities, but it will be dependent upon the activity.

Families who utilize university model style schools, where students attend classes 2 to 3 days a week and homeschool the other two days should contact bach@bachboernehomeshool.org prior to applying and paying for membership.

Q:

What all does BACH offer?

A:

The co-op offers classes, sports, field trips, socials, productions, graduations, friendships and so much more.

Q:

Does Homeschooling adversely affect the socialization of a child?

A:

No, studies have shown that homeschooled children are better socialized in real-world settings. A class full of 30 ten year olds is not a natural setting in real life. Experiments have shown that a room full of different aged homeschooled children all play along nicely. Public schooled children of the same ages grouped themselves by age and didn't socialize much with others outside their age group.

Q:

Do I have to join BACH if I only want to play sports, not take classes?

A:

Yes, all sports are fall under the BACH umbrella of activities and use BACH resources to provide web acees, scheduling, and other miscellanious administrative things.  Therefore to play on the BACH sports team families need to hold an official BACH membership.  The membership is only $50 per family for the whole school year.  BACH membership also gets you access to our website that provides the calendar of games and other events such as field trips.  You'll also recieve access to our eloop where you can stay up to date on our growing sports program.
