TriCity Impact Group - Oklahoma

The TriCity Impact Group is a homeschool group in the Tri City area of Oklahoma. Impact has members from Newcastle, Blanchard, and surrounding areas.

Impact is a parent-driven group. What we "do" depends largely on the interests and contributions of families. Field trips, holiday events, geography fair, mystery of history, mother/son event, father/daughter event, game nights, and Mom's night out are some of the activities Impact members put together. There is an annual $15/family fee to participate in the Impact group.

Impact Co-op (cooperative learning environment) meets weekly on Mondays at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Classes are tutored by parents. There are 3 classes, each an hour in length, in addition to an hour lunch/recess. There are 14 weeks in each semester. Classes in the past have included: cooking, astronomy, keyboarding, general science, cultures of the world, presidents, etc. There is an additional $20/semester family fee for participation in Co-op. This fee goes to general co-op supplies, cleaning supplies, paper products for events, special event needs, etc. There are also class fees (usually small) to cover special supplies used in the class.

**The families that have the best co-op experience are those that are engaged. We want families to be successful. So, before fully committing to co-op, we ask that families to participate in at least 3 activities to meet other families and make meaningful connections.

For more information about TriCity Impact Group, please click "Join" at the top of this page and some one from the Leadership Team will contact you. We will set up a time to meet (usually at a library or during co-op) to share with you pertinent information about the group and answer all of your questions.

**Please note that once a member, TriCity Impact Gorup primarily uses Facebook for communication. It is a secret group page for members. This is where announcements, etc are shared. This website is used for group membership, event calendar, event sign up, and co-op class enrollment.

TriCity Impact Group is, by design, a Christian group. Impact is not, however, associated with any denomination. We believe each family is to instruct their children in Scripture, in accordance with their own interpretations and convictions.

Our Statement of Faith concerns the Person and Work of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) revealed in Scripture. It is that faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3, Eph. 4:5) which distinguishes believers from non-believers. There are many other precious truths taught in the Bible over which godly men have differed in understanding. Therefore, this is not a statement of all that is important to believe but of all that is essential to believe for Christian fellowship and unity (Rom. 15:7).

Tenets:

  a. We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God (II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21)

  b. We believe in the Trinity. (I John 5:7)

  c. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God and fulfilled all prophecy concerning the Messiah. (Luke 24:25-27)

  d. We believe all humans are sinful by nature. (Rom. 3:9-18, Rom. 5:12)

  e. We believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ as Savior and that it is only by His blood that men will live in Heaven. (Heb. 10:8-14)

  f. We also affirm the biblical definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9).
