All third-option homeschooling parents are required to keep their own records. These records are to include:
(1) a plan book, diary, or other record indicating subjects taught and activities in which the student and parent-teacher engage
(2) a portfolio of samples of the student’s academic work
(3) a semi-annual progress report including attendance records for 180 days, individualized documentation of the student’s academic progress in each of the basic instructional areas of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, and in grades seven through twelve, composition and literature.
There are many different record keeping forms available on the internet. Here are some of our favorite links. You may use these, use ours, or create your own.
You may also opt to join an online record keeping service for $20 a year.
