Q: How many classes can I take?
A: You may register for as little as one or as many as five classes
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Tuition fees average about $6.25/class for upper level PIONEERS classes. For the YP Program, fees are $13.00/wk. There is also a yearly registration fee per family as well as varying lab & copy fees per semester, depending on the class. Please see Class Registration for pricing on specific classes.
Q: Can I drop or add a class later?
A: Yes. You may add or drop at a later date, however, fees are incurred when dropping a class.
Q: What are the Michigan graduation requirements?
A: Please see: MI Graduation Requirements.
Q: Can I just register for Young PIONEERS?
A: Yes, you may just register for YP, without having a child in the older program.
Q: How often do you meet?
A: We meet 28 weeks from Sept. through May, on average three or four Wednesdays per month.
Q: Can I drop my child off for the day, without taking all five classes?
A: Yes, your child will need to be registered in Study Hall classes @ $2.00/wk or may volunteer their time.
Q: What are the time requirements needed to volunteer in the YP (K-5th) program?
A: Every family enrolled in YP is required to work a few hours each week in the co-op.
Q: What are the time requirements needed to volunteer in the 6th - 12th program?
A: Every family enrolled in the 6th-12th grade program must work 4-8 hours/year, approx. 1 or 2 days.
Q: Do all of your PIONEERS classes require homework?
A: No, there are several fun, enrichment classes to choose from that do not require homework.
Q: Are all of your teachers licensed?
A: No, many are not licensed teachers, however, it is required that they be extremely knowledgeable and have a love for what they are teaching.
Q: Can I make monthly payments for classes?
A: Yes, we do bill monthly for classes, however the non-refundable registration and lab/copy fees must be paid prior to the beginning of class.
Q: Will my child receive an accredited diploma?
A: No. Our goal is to come alongside the parent in their homeschooling endeavor. We are not an accredited school. PIONEERS will provide an evaluation of work completed for each class at the end of each semester, but all final grades and transcripts are the responsibility of the parent.
