Chesapeake Critter Cruise

Tuesday, Sept 28th 9:30am-10:30am
The boat departs exactly at 9:30am.  Boarding starts at 9:15am.  Please plan to arrive at the boat by 9:15 and leave plenty of time to find parking in downtown Annapolis & walk to the dock.

Learn about the Chesapeake Bay from knowledgeable Annapolis Maritime Museum docents while cruising down the Severn River on the Harbor Queen. Hands-on learning with “critters” of the Chesapeake Bay including crabs, eels and oysters. Students visit interactive stations around the boat while they cruise along local waterways.  This one-hour trip is tailored towards elementary-aged students but all members of a family are welcome to join (infant & grandparent friendly!). After the cruise, we invite all participants to walk a block to the outdoor seating area next to the Market House to grab a snack/coffee and hang-out with other homeschool families.

You can park at the city dock for up to 2 hours and pay the meter. If you want to stay in Annapolis longer than that or if there is no metered parking available, the closest garage is the Hillman Garage at 150 Gorman St. Parking Map attached.  

COVID DISCLAIMERS All participants should read and agree to the AHSG COVID disclosure.  Please note that at this time, no masks are required since the boat is all open-air and outside.

COSTS which includes PayPal admin fees:

  • Adults (18 years old and older) $17 each
  • Students (17 years old and younger ): $13 each

SPECIAL NOTES

  • Each sign up is non-refundable because your ticket purchase secures the event reservation; however, you are free to transfer your tickets to another family.  Please email the coordinator at events@arundelhomeschoolers.com if you need to transfer your ticket(s) to another family.
  • Tiffany Rogers is coordinating this field trip for Arundel  Homeschool Support Group.
