Joanne Fiore, Director
A graduate of Auburn University and the Navy ROTC program, Joanne spent five years serving as an officer in the United States Navy in Pensacola, Florida and Tokyo, Japan. In 1997, she traded in her Navy blues for civilian clothes, married herself a dashing Navy pilot (who happens to be authoring this biography), and started a family in San Diego, CA. As her family grew and her boys began to reach school age, Joanne read the book “Should I Homeschool” by Elizabeth and Dan Hamilton and concluded her answer was a resounding, “No!” Regardless, she committed to 1 year of homeschooling her oldest boy, Ben, as he began the 1st grade. Fifteen years later, Ben is now a junior at Purdue University, Jake graduated high school June 2019 and is working and taking classes at Ivy Tech, Josh is a high school sophomore, Matthew is in the seventh grade, and Joanne is still homeschooling. So much for Elizabeth and Dan Hamilton’s advice! She enjoys participating in co-op, cooking, hosting and encouraging ladies in her home, and leading worship at her church.
