The following is an incomplete alphabetical list of some of the current music teachers in the area......there are many excellent music teachers locally, this is just a place to start if you are looking.  We encourage you to ask for references.  As our list has grown, not all teachers listed here have worked with FCHE families.

CVMTA is a professional music teachers association. Their website has a “Find a Teacher” page with a directory of members. They have members who teach a variety of instruments and voice.

Joyce is a widow who has taught piano lessons for many years and has had homeschooled students in the past. She takes beginner and intermediate students. Her current rate is $12/half hour lesson. The Brandts and the Hills have received instruction from Mrs. Hallett.  She has been a church pianist/organist for 45 years.

A graduate from the University of Eau Claire Wisconsin and former homeschooler, Bethany Joy is excited to see how God will make use of music in her life and those around her! The main instrument that I play and teach is harp. However, I do take and have a few piano students.  Right now, I usually will travel to teach students in their own homes, but sometimes I have and will teach from my home. Feel free to go ahead and contact me with any questions.

Daniel is a Juilliard-trained professional musician who teaches piano at Immanuel Lutheran High School.  He has performed concerts all across the US and Canada, and has openings in his schedule for students of all ages.  He was homeschooled himself and enjoys working with homeschoolers.  He taught piano and organ privately in the NYC area, as well as organ literature as a faculty member of Juilliard, before moving to Eau Claire

My husband John and I currently own and operate Offbeats Violin and Guitar Studio, and our shop offers lessons in violin/fiddle (all styles and levels), guitar, voice/singing, viola, and cello. We also have a wide range of instruments for sale and rental, as well as cases, bows, accessories, etc.
    An exciting new part of Offbeats is our full-service repair shop for string instruments. John received his degree in Violin Repair and Restoration from the well-known repair school in Red Wing, MN in 2000 and has been working in the field since. Together, we do all repairs from small maintenance to complete restoration of fine instruments.

Anita Wahl -  Piano & Guitar lessons
Anita Wahl is taking daytime piano students. She has taught piano in her home in Chippewa Falls for 15 years. She may be willing to travel
Also, Anita will teach basic guitar lessons.She teaches chords, and encourages students to pull out their favorite worship songs to learn for their personal worship times, as well as to possibly lead others in worship someday.

Bev Ward - piano
Bev is currently seeking additional daytime piano students so she can cut back at her after-school/evening job and have more time with her own school-age daughter.  She teaches out of her home on the northeast side of Eau Claire, but she is also willing to travel to homes or a central location where families can travel to, if something like that were to work out.   She has been teaching for 20 years. If you'd like to speak with some families who have taken lessons from her, you may speak with the Gulottas, the Ruebers, or the Meads.

Rebecca, Jennifer, and Terry have been teaching for over twenty years. They were homeschooled and went on to get music degrees from UWEC. Jennifer and Terry play in the Chippewa Valley Symphony. They all regularly participate in the music ministry at their church.

Dr. Kate Lanzer recently moved back to the Eau Claire area and has opened a music studio for piano and violin, The Complete Musician Studio, which is located at Lake Street Methodist Church.  
Dr. Lanzer, a former homeschooler, started her musical studies in the Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire area.  She holds a Bachelors in Piano Performance from UWEC studying piano under Dr. Wimunc-Pearson and Mrs. Cecchini and violin under Nobu Yasuda; a Masters and Doctorate in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Wisconsin Madison studying performance under Christopher Taylor, pedagogy under Dr. Jess Johnson, and collaborative piano under Martha Fischer.  She also did post-graduate work at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia.
After completing her degrees, Dr. Lanzer was on faculty at the University of MN-Duluth and the College of St. Scholastica in addition to maintaining an active private studio.  Dr. Lanzer relocated to the Eau Claire area in June of 2014 and is currently accepting new students of all ages and abilities for the fall semester.  She is excited to have come back to her WI roots and work with families in the area!
