Make plans to join Tulsa Rocketry in
Pawhuska, Oklahoma for High Frontier 11. The launch will take place September 27 through 28, 2014. The Pawhuska Municipal Airport will again be the location. Lots to see and do, it will be fun for the whole family. Same as last year, there will be on site camping allowed, but there will be no hook-ups. Kids under 18 can fly free when accompanied by parents. Launch fees for adult fliers are $10.00 for one day and $15.00 for the weekend. All adult fliers must be members of either Tripoli or NAR. Fliers can register at the field. Spectators are welcome and watching the launch is free and a lot of fun.
The range will open both Saturday and Sunday at 9:00am and close at 5:00 pm. We have a waiver to 20,000 feet AGL. Sims will be required for launches over 15,000 feet AGL. Please submit your sim to hal121 at cox dot net prior to the launch weekend. All sims must use RASAero. It can be downloaded from here. Commercial motors only at this launch.
This year we are again having a Night Launch. The launch will begin at approximately 8:30pm. Will will only be launching A-G motors at night. Remember to fly as many lights on the rocket as possible and bring your flashlight.
For youth fliers under age 18, there will be a “Closest to the Buffalo” contest each day. We will also have a drawing for door prizes and Rocket Kits.
We will also have an ongoing drawing each day for rocket kits. We expect to give away over 40 rocket kits. Some will be ready to fly (no assembly required), some will be almost ready to fly (mostly snap together), and a few will require glue and some adult help to build, but all will be cool. The drawing is open to all children under the age of 18. Be sure to pick up your drawing ticket at the registration table. You must be present to win.
Commemorative High Frontier Rocket Mail covers will be flown at the HF11 rocket launch in Pawhuska, OK, on September 27, 2014. The cover is a historical and official cover that was postmarked at the Kennedy Space Center on April 12, 1981, commemorating the flight STS-1. You can see a scan of the cover and purchase them here. Net proceeds from this promotion will be donated to the Pawhuska Ministerial Alliance Food Bank
Note: All “sparky” type motors are prohibited at this launch. Don’t even ask!!
For the adult fliers there will be the following contests:
New to High Frontier 11 will will be having
1st Annual High Frontier Big Daddy Drag Race – All participant will use Estes D12s. If a second round is necessary we will use Estes E9s. This race will be held approximately 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon.
3rd annual High Frontier Minie Magg Drag Race – All participants must use an Aerotech I357 motor. This drag race will be held Sunday morning at 9am.
James DuBois Warloc Drag Race – This year we are combining the 2 classes into one race. We will be using AT J570 or 38mm CTI equivalent. This drag race will be held at 9am Saturday morning. You don’t want to miss this! (See some of the pictures from a previous drag race.)

There will be vendors on site. Impulse Aerospace and Hobby Town USA will be there to provide your rocket and motor needs. The Pawhuska High School Cheerleaders will be there with food, water and soft drinks.
