Kids: Bring your own Nerf Gun to participate. Please label your gun with your name on masking tape ahead of time. Do NOT bring any personal nerf bullets that are special to you and that you don't want to get mixed up or lose. It is usually best to bring guns that shoot standard sized Nerf bullets, so you'll always have plenty of ammo to use.
Parents: Bring Nerf Bullets (generics are fine). They will ALL go in to a community wagon for kids to pull from. Please count how many you bring when you come & you should be able to go home with *close* to the same number when you leave (some inevitably get lost). You will NOT go home with the same bullets you brought, so please don't bring special ones that you don't want lost or don't want to share.
The Battle will occur at Bicentennial Park, across the bridge, at the beginning of the treed area (to make the Nerf Wars more exciting). Parents who want to watch should bring a camp chair to sit in.
The kids will battle from 11am to 1pm or so. There will be several different rounds of games or battles.
Afterwards, we'll ask everyone to help collect bullets - we don't want to leave the park a mess! Then we'll move back to the pavilion area for lunch.
Please be sure to pack a sack lunch and drinks for your own kids. We'll provide additional cold waters and frozen icee pops.
Some parents may want to remain at the pavilion area during the Nerf Wars, to watch over younger siblings on the playground and to keep an eye on our ice chests and lunches. That will be much appreciated as well!
