The identity of the Sacred Heart Home Educators (SHHE) is joyfully Catholic.

As faithful members of the Body of Christ, the Church, we believe and profess the teachings and disciplines of the Catholic Church. That is, we firmly accept and hold each and everything definitively proposed by the Church regarding teaching on faith and morals as enunciated by the Magisterium.

Examples include but are not limited to:

Genesis 1:27, Matthew 19:4-6, Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 2331-2336

Gender is given to us by God as reflected by our bodies. Our appearance should reflect our assigned masculinity and femininity.

Marriage is defined in the CCC 1601as:

"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."

Matthew 18:6; Matthew 18:14

To better align ourselves with the Diocese of Phoenix policy of intolerance toward any sexual, physical, emotional abuse of minors, at least one adult member per household will be required to have current Call to Protect Training. As per the Diocesan requirement, any adult who is directly involved in any ministry or activity with children is required to complete the Call to Protect orientation and subsequent annual renewals.

James 4:11; Philippians 4:8

Public defamation of the Catholic Church, the SHHE group, or any of its members is incompatible with our faith. Some examples include social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, discussion boards, and the Yahoo email list serve.

Because it is impossible to compile a comprehensive list of specific acts constituting misconduct and scandalous behavior, members must use common sense guided by the Magisterium to direct their behavior and to abide by this Code of Ethics.

Disputes regarding Church teaching will be deferred to the spiritual advisor. (See Mt 18:15-17;1Cor 6:1-6)
