Rhythms of Grace began in Arlington, Texas, and we now have members from all over (and beyond!) the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Most of our events still happen in the Arlington area.
We named the group Rhythms of Grace because of the verse in The Message:
Matthew 11:28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” I breathe a sigh of relief just reading those words. It's how I want to relate to my children as well, that I model and disciple my kids in a way that is gentle and unburdening.
We envisioned a group where people weren't required to sign statements of faith. Where people could come together under the banner of Jesus, yet think differently on secondary issues. A place free of judgement and drama. I think we've done really well as a group maintaining that unity. I hope that stays as our mission, our defining factor of this group. We are welcoming and loving.
We have something for all ages, although our largest numbers are in the 6 - 10 year old range. We have a burgeoning group of young teens (13 - 15 years), and we are always happy to welcome more!
