FAQs

Q:

What is G.I.F.T.'s Statement of Faith?

A:

Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith includes only those truths upon which all true Christians agree.  It concerns the Person and Work of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) as revealed in Scripture.  It is the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3, Eph 4:5) which distinguishes believers from non-believers.  There are many other precious truths taught in the Bible over which godly men have differed in understanding.  Therefore, this is not a statement of all that is important to believe, but of all that is essential to believe for Christian fellowship and unity (Rom. 15:7).  This article many only be amended by unanimous vote of all Directors.

Additionally, to participate as a board, each board member signs a Board Participation Form which includes a Statement of Faith based on what is found in the By-Laws.  This form can be found at the below:

Board Member Participation – Statement of Faith and Confidentiality

Our Statement of Faith includes only those truths upon which all true Christians agree.

I believe in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) as revealed in Scripture.

I believe in the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3, Eph. 4:5) which distinguishes believers from nonbelievers.

I believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within us, guides, instructs and empowers us as believers for godly living and service.

I believe the direction to  “accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” (Romans 15:7)

I believe in the spiritual unity of believers through the above beliefs and faith in Jesus Christ.  Other individual doctrinal differences which may exist should not hinder this unity.

This statement is not a statement of all that is important to believe, but of all that is essential to believe for Christian Fellowship and unity.

I accept this position on the G.I.F.T. Board and Leadership Team with an open heart to acknowledge the gifts of each individual within this community of faith, and commit to using my own talents in the service of others.

I commit to performing my duties as outlined in the by-laws for our organization.  If I am unable to perform my duties, I commit to notifying the remaining Board members as soon as possible.

I agree to uphold the policies and practices determined by the Board and understand that all communications with teachers, parents, students and other board members be professional and represent the spirit of Christ.

By signing this document, members agree to keep all financial and personal information confidential as deemed necessary for the operation of the group.
