Prospective Families

New Family Interviews

We are grateful for new families that join the BHC community each year. BHC Administration requires an interview to meet families and ensure that we are like-minded in our goals and a good fit both for the family and BHC. New families applying to BHC and rising 7th graders from the Lower School are included. Information for scheduling family interviews will be posted by February 2027.

New families applying to BHC must provide a total of 2 referrals from (a) a current BHC family or a member of your church leadership (pastor or elder) and (b) the student's former/current teacher, coach, or church small group leader. The goal is to gain insight on how your student responds in a class/group environment. The references may each complete the form and submit it online. Referral links will be sent once your New Family Interview is scheduled.

Registration

BHC uses a rolling registration process in the early Spring. We do not keep waitlists prior to registration and do not allow registrations after classes begin in August. The registration process begins with current students and moves to siblings of current students, members of TCABH, and then the general public. The registration process and dates for the 27-28 academic year will be posted by February 2027.

There is a required non-refundable registration fee for each student. Fees for the 26-27 academic year were $175 for Lower School and $225 for Upper School. The schedule for these fees will be posted by February 2027.

Financials

Tuition payments for each class are paid directly to the teacher by Venmo. Tuition costs ranged from $450-$650 per year for 26-27 Upper School classes. Lower School classes were $400 per class, and $800 for Kindergarten. The cost per class will be included in the proposed class schedule posted prior to registration.

A security facility fee per student is due in August. This fee covers security, front desk, facility, website, and supply expenses. The fee was $160 for the 26-27 year.

*Some homeschooling families may qualify for the Choose Act. Please note that BHC is not a school or state-certified group of teachers. Therefore, Choose Act funds are not applicable towards BHC costs at this time. Any updates or changes to this process will be communicated prior to registration for the 2027-2028 academic year.

Alabama Homeschool Law Notification
Brook Hills Co-op does not function as a church school, a private school, or a state-certified group of teachers. BHC’s role is to support the parent’s role as the primary educator of their student. Parents who choose not to join a church school or have their home function as a “private school” must follow state guidelines for homeschooling. BHC recommends parents join a church school as they see fit in the Lower School grades. Registration with a church (cover) school is a requirement for enrollment in the Upper School.

Forms/Logistics

All families are asked each year to affirm the parent and student handbook (with appendices), TCABH Statement of Faith, Peacemaker Pledge, and medical release/liability form. One parent and all enrolled BHC students must sign the signature page. In addition, each student must complete the Student Information Form (all grades). All forms are submitted at the mandatory parent/student meeting in August. These documents and forms will be updated and posted by February 2027.
