Tubing at Welch Mill and Picnic at WindyShire

Add to Your Calendar: 07/15/2018 12:00 07/15/2018 19:00 America/Chicago Tubing at Welch Mill and Picnic at WindyShire

The Welch Mill on the Cannon River offers a family friendly tubing experience. Come join in some summer fun, then return to WindyShire (Diana's parents' house) nearby for a picnic-potluck (and a bonfire, if the wind allows).

Where: WindyShire (Diana's parents' house) 25733 152nd Ave Way, Welch, Mn 55089
When you turn off Co. Rd. 7 (the last paved road), two dirt roads immediately split. Stay to the right. Then take the 2nd driveway on the right. The house is barely visible from the road, but there is a mailbox.

When: Arrive between 12-12:45pm. We'll drive down to the river at 1pm. Parking is limited at the Welch Mill, so we'll gather at WindyShire, then carpool down to the river. If some of the family is not going tubing, they are welcome to hang out at the house, climb trees, play in the sprinkler, bring their squirt guns, etc..

How long: We’ll do the short trip (30-45 min), but you can repeat it as many times as you want, while they are still shuttling for the day.

How much: The group rate is $11/tube. (If we don't get 25 people, the rate goes up to $12/tube)

What do I need to bring? A picnic blanket or lawn chairs, swim suits and towels, sunscreen, old tennis shoes/sandals/water shoes (the river bottom is somewhat rocky), a dish to share for supper (please label with ingredients), a beverage of your choosing (if you want something other than water or herbal iced tea). We will provide a place to plug in crockpots, as well as the usual paper plates, silverware, etc.

How do I sign up? Pay Diana by July 12th. One check must be written for everyone in our group.

Anything else I should know? Anyone ten years of age or under are required to wear a life jacket according to law. Life jackets are available upon request, free of charge. Taking children under age three is not recommended.
