FIAR- Five in a Row

FIAR – Five in a Row (1st grade – younger 3rd grade)

Five in a Row (FIAR) is an enrichment class that allows students to explore literature from multiple angles. This year in the FIAR class we will be using Volume 1, exclusively.  We will take two weeks to work through each book.  Over the course of two weeks we will cover all four subject areas of language arts, math, science and social studies  in order to provide a well rounded unit.  In addition, we will sprinkle in bible connections over the semester. Having a copy at home (optional) is encouraged so that you can simply read it to them for repetition, in between classes, increasing the opportunity they have to hear it read with intonation and inflection aiding in their learning and comprehension.

“The goal of our instruction is to lead children to fall in love with good books and to embrace the joy of learning.” -FIAR
