Storybook and Literary STEM

Storybook STEM 2nd-3rd graders
 
In Storybook STEM, students will have opportunities to collaborate, experiment, construct, design and make scientific and mathematical discoveries through hands-on projects. They will participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) experiences that they will be able to apply to real-world situations. Weekly STEM projects will be inspired by content from popular storybooks. The lessons in this class will provide opportunities for the children to problem-solve, develop critical and creative thinking skills and to arrive at meaningful conclusions together.

Teacher: Mrs. Christine Johnson

Time: Wednesdays 101 (2nd-3rd grade): 1:00-1:55pm

                                 102 (4th-6th grade): 12:00-12:55pm

Price: $90/per elective

Literary STEM for 4th-6th graders

In Literary STEM, students will have opportunities to collaborate, experiment, construct, design and make scientific and mathematical discoveries through hands-on projects. They will participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) experiences that they will be able to apply to real-world situations. Weekly STEM projects will be inspired by content from classic literary tales. The lessons in this class will provide opportunities for the children to problem-solve, develop critical and creative thinking skills and to arrive at meaningful conclusions together.
