“HIS Co-op” Cooperative Learning Classes

LCHE offers cooperative learning classes (aka Homeschool Instructional Support "HIS" Co-op) to all LCHE members and are only made available to those who have completed all LCHE required registration and paid current in dues.

Co-op classes are offered on a weekly basis, are one hour long, and age appropriate.  The co-op is 100% volunteer run, and classes are taught by home school parents.  Classes are offered at 9am, 10am, and 11am.

Co-op activities and classes are offered to all ages through High School, and a nursery space is provided. We do request that a family's oldest child be at least age 5 by September 1st.

Parents are required to be on-site and volunteer in some way. All children present must be registered in a class; we do not offer a Study Hall period.

The fee for each class varies each year, and is collected at time of enrollment.

HIS Co-Op classes are held at the Family Life Center (FSBC) located at Wentz/Warner in the heart of Guthrie. HIS Co-Op Family Facility & Support Fee is $100 per family (First-Half is collected at enrollment and Second-Half collected in October, or $100 collected at time of registration if past October.  Financial commitments are made when enrolling and are expected to be fulfilled.  No refunds are made once payment is made.  Payment is required to complete registration.

Families may be given a supply list to bring for each class.

LCHE members are not required to take part in co-op classes; but LCHE Membership is required to participate in HIS Co-Op.

A co-op class schedule and activities will be posted on LCHE's website once available.

HIS Co-Op Class Registration is always open to new members!  Current members have a "Registration Period" to establish class sizes/supply needs, while newly joining members have the option of a "FREE VISIT" prior to registering for classes. New members have one month from joining to register for new classes and pay fees.

Class Dates and Fees may be available upon request to non-members if not available under "HIS Co-OP/Class Listing" page.  Please use the contact link to request more details.  Serious inquiries only, please.

Please Note:  Some classes are full and show CLOSED on the Class Registration matrix. Both the Nursery and PreK/K classes are full....and they are very full! This is actually new territory for us as leaders as we have always been able to rearrange or add/split classes in the past to welcome new families throughout the school year. Our new location this year does not allow for quite so much wiggle room as the classrooms are a bit smaller and fewer extra rooms to "grow" in to. Also, we currently have more families than ever before (not a bad problem to have, I realize, but still a challenge.)

So, what to do now? You have a few options:

  • If you have alternative care for your younger children, you may register your school-age children for one, two, or all three hours. We have families who currently utilize this model, being able to leave their youngest kiddos home with Daddy or Grandma.
  • Also, sometimes families have to quit/leave for one reason or another throughout the year. If this happens and Nursery/PreK space opens, we would contact you to see if you were interested in joining at that time.
  • Lastly, you are more than welcome to take advantage of the extra-curricular opportunities this year (field trips, play days etc.) to hang out with LCHE Families and enjoy the fellowship and new friends. As a member of LCHE you will receive an email in the Spring as soon as registration opens for the co-op for the next school year so that you will be able to register after teachers and before the "public" or non LCHE members.
