TACHE Used Book Sale - Buyer FAQ

Do you have to be a homeschooler to shop?
No. Our sale is open to the public.

Do you take credit cards or checks?
We accept  CASH ONLY, and you will  pay for each item with exact change. We encourage you to bring a lot of one dollar bills, a few five and ten dollar bills, and at least one roll of quarters.

Why do I have to use exact change?
We understand that in this day of electronic transactions, stuffing cash in an envelope seems odd, but it works really well for our sale. The use of exact change greatly reduces the potential for errors in money handling and streamlines the sale. Sellers are able to drop off their labeled items on Monday morning and pick up their unsold items and cash on Tuesday afternoon. How awesome is that?

Can I bring my kids to the sale?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your whole family. We do ask that children under age 13 stay with their parents at all times.

Can I bring a wagon or cart to carry things around while I shop?
Sorry, no. We also ask that you not bring book bags or strollers. If your arms get too full, we encourage you to check out and take your purchases to your car before returning to finish shopping.

Is everything discounted at the Half-Price Sale?
Some sellers choose not to discount their items; those are marked with a red dot. $0.25 items are not discounted. All other items are half-price.  Most sellers DO choose to discount their items. Be prepared to find amazing deals on the second day of the sale.

I often see identical items priced differently? Why?
Sellers decide how to price their items. Different sellers will price things differently.

I often see identical items in different areas of the sale floor? Why?
Sellers decide how to categorize their items, usually depending on how those items were used in their own homeschool. For example, a book about Archimedes might be in either History or Science.

What if there is a problem with my purchase (pages missing/doesn’t work/etc.)?
We operate as a “double blind” sale. If you find a problem with something once you are home, we really don’t have any way of knowing who you purchased it from. Please check items thoroughly before you by them.
