Who is LCHSA?   We are a  non-profit Christian organization that provides an opportunity for home-schooled students in the southeastern WI area to play competitive sports.  It is our desire to help those students develop their athletic talent, build Godly character, and make lasting friendships with fellow home schoolers.

What sports are offered?  Basketball for both boys and girls; Volleyball is currently only offered to girls.

Am I eligible to play?  You must be a home schooled student, ages 9 – 18.  You do not need to belong to any specific home school group.

Does LCHSA charge a fee to players?  Yes.  Even though all of our coaches, assistants, and board members freely volunteer their time, other operating costs are incurred such as insurance, referee costs, tournament fees, uniforms, medical supplies, etc.  As a home school organization, we do not own a facility.  We must rent gyms for every practice and home game.  As a non-profit organization,  every effort is made to keep fees at a minimum. Fees vary from year to year based on the amount of scheduled games and other factors.

Where are practices held?  All of our teams practice in the Racine/Kenosha area.  Exact locations, times, and frequency vary, but teams average 2 or 3 practices a week.

Where are games played?  Young ages play all their games in the Racine/Kenosha area.  High School teams play games in a wider geographical area of southeastern WI and northern IL.

Does LCHSA have any home games?  Yes!  We currently host games at a local elementary school in Yorkville.  We are grateful for the use of this fine facility!

Do our teams compete in tournaments?  Yes!  All tournaments for young ages, both volleyball and basketball, are in the Racine/Kenosha area.  High school teams usually participate in Regional and National tournaments that require further travel and some over-night stays.

When was LCHSA founded?   It all started in the year 2000, thanks to Thomas and Constance Rivers.  An excerpt from their son’s graduation speech is posted on our public home page and helps shed some light on why the organization was formed.  LCHSA began with one basketball team of twelve boys.  The organization has grown with more teams for girls and boys.  In addition, volleyball is now offered for girls.
