Homeschool Cooperative Academy
Education God’s Way!
Our Academy functions and operates as a Homeschool Cooperative with enrollment categories described as Cooperative Education Tiers (CETs).
What is a Homeschool Cooperative?
A homeschool cooperative is a group of parent educators coming together to provide academic, social, spiritual, economic, cultural needs and enrichment opportunities for their children.
What are Cooperative Education Tiers?
Cooperative (also know as co-op) Education Tiers (CETs) are the autonomous levels of our operational structure within the school.
We offer 2 main Cooperative Programs: Tradition that offers 3 levels of CETs and Virtual Learning that offer that same great benefits online.
Ky’Ijel Group Christian academy was originally founded in 2004 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a ministry outreach for out-risk youth. In 2006, God impressed upon our hearts to pull our daughter out of public school and homeschool her. Then the summer of 2007, the Holy Spirit us led to start an evangelistic homeschool academy that opened it doors August 13, 2007. The school's mission encompasses Bible-based teaching with a Christ-centered worldview, promoting academic excellence, youth discipleship and character building, empowering parents and igniting a sense of community.
We believe that the ultimate responsibility for the education of children belongs to parents (Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:1-25, and 4:1-4) and is an inalienable right given by God, which the State cannot create, destroy, or alter. Parents may allow another to teach some of the cognitive information that children need to know, but all education must be under the ultimate control and supervision of the parents (Proverbs 22:6).
We believe education in the home (done by the parent) to be the BEST form of education, but we recognize that many parents cannot educate at home for valid reasons and support the right of parents to send their children to school. We further recognize that because of economic or other reasons, a parent or guardian may have no other alternative but to place a child in a public or private school. Although this is acceptable in society, we do not, however, support public education because of their ostensible, secular-humanistic philosophy of education.
Therefore, our school’s philosophy is to Empower “YOU” to take back the responsibly of educating your child.
We accomplish this by offering two programs:
1). Tradition. This program provides parents the opportunity to give their children a great education in a home away from home environment. Through this concept of cooperative individualization, children experience the sense of community, self-discipline, mastery-based achievement, motivation, enriched educational advantages of a Christ-like home-school atmosphere. Our curriculum, “A.C.E. stands out from other curriculum providers with its individualized, self-instructional, mastery-based approach. With minimal assistance, PACEs allow students to absorb subject material according to their own learning ability rather than being pushed forward or held back by their age.”
2). Virtual. This program supports and serves homeschool families or those considering homeschooling, church or co-op schools. The virtual learning experience offers the same great learning benefits and parental support that our face-to-face students and parents received. We will facilitate a seamless cooperative learning experience alongside parents and students, allowing them a synchronous way to participate and connect from anywhere in the world into our blended learning classroom using the A.C.E. program, Biblical devotion, Character development, co-op enrichment courses and much more.
We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong relationship with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As cooperative parent-partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s academic success and spiritual growth and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. Ultimately, we desire to set the stage for cohesive involvement that seeks to duplicate the know-how and will-power back into the hands of the parents.
Ky’Ijel Group Christian Academy recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child, therefore, is dedicated to work alongside parents by providing needed resources in aiding children to succeed to the next academic level with the guided strength of biblical principles, affordable education and know-how. We’re prepared to meet the educational needs of all families.
